Officials ask for help after discovery of a ‘poached’ sea turtle

Biscayne National Park, Fla. — Officials at Biscayne National Park  in South Florida are asking for your help in finding the persons responsible for ‘poaching’ a sea turtle.

Marine Patrol Officers posted a video of the reptile floating in the water with the shaft of a spear through its head on their Facebook page.

The turtle was found Tuesday by a group of fishermen.

Sea turtles are federally and state protected animals, the person responsible could face a criminal charge and be fined up to $100,000.
