New seats in new stands installed at Daytona Speedway

Workers got up early today and started attaching 10,000 "wider, more confortable" seating at the top of the new grandstands at Daytona International Speedway, according to raceway officials.

The work began on the east end of the new frontstretch grandstand.

When NASCAR returns in July for the Coke Zero 400 Weekend Powered by Coca-Cola, they will be ready for use.

With limited seating for this summer's race, fans are being urged to buy their tickets early.

Another 40,000 new seats will be available on the west side of the stadium, too.

Construction will be completed in time for next year's Daytona 500.
