Coalition for the Homeless opens new men's service center

The Coalition for the Homeless cut the ribbon on Wednesday morning for the new Men's Service Center.

The center will provide space for 250 homeless men, 50 of those spaces will be made available specifically for veterans.

It's a 2-story, 32,000 sqft facility that includes a full kitchen, dining room and offices for case managers and partner organizations.

Services like, job skills training, employment services, mental health counseling,legal clinics, life skills training, financial literacy, health care referrals, and 12-step groups.

Part of the mission of the new facility will be to provide services that in the past weren't available.

In addition to the new center, the Coalition has also bee able to expand their First Step substance abuse recovery program from 36 to 50 beds.
