A parking garage in New York City’s Financial District collapsed on Tuesday afternoon, leaving one person dead and multiple people injured.
Firefighters responded to the scene but had to pull rescuers out due to concerns of the building’s structural stability.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams confirmed one person was found dead after first responders arrived.
Pace University canceled classes Tuesday evening and evacuated its 33 Beekman and 161 William buildings, making accommodations for residential students.
