The Mount Dora police department is investigating an attempted assault that happened over the weekend.
It happened Sunday night as the victim was walking near the intersection of Highland Street and 9th Avenue.
The woman told officers she was approached from behind by a Hispanic male who grabbed her by the neck and took her into the backyard of a nearby home. The woman was able to escape unharmed.
