Late Thursday afternoon, the family of the man cops say shot and killed his estranged wife in front of their children at a Dr. Phillips Park urged him to turn himself in.
Julian Paris’ cousin, Michael Jorge spoke to Channel 9's Karla Ray.
“I don’t know what demon got into him, but he shouldn’t have done it. Plain and simple,” Jorge said. “In front of everybody, in front of the kids. Pull out a gun and seriously shoot?” said Jorge.
Deputies named Paris as a suspect in the shooting death Wednesday of 34 year old Liza Nicole Adderlini and said he was considered armed and dangerous.
Paris was last seen wearing a red shirt and black hat and fled the scene in a white Kia Spectra hatchback with Florida license plate K259IV.
Ray tells NEWS 96.5 that family friends told her Paris and Adderlini had been together for 21 years, but before that, Paris was married to Adderlini’s mother.
According to investigators, 54 year old Paris, who some friends call "Mike," opened fire on Adderlini just before 4:30 p.m. in the middle of Dr. P. Phillips Community Park, which sits across from SeaWorld near Interstate 4.
"Mr. Paris arrived on scene. An altercation ensued. He pulled out a firearm and fired multiple shots," said Jeff Williamson of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said one of the children who saw the killing called 911.
Horrified bystanders said they also witnessed the shooting.
Adderlini's best friend tells Ray that Paris and Adderlini separated a couple weeks ago because Paris became controlling and was getting physical with his wife.
She said Adderlini took the children and moved in with her mother.
Investigators also said Adderlini and Paris got into a fight hours before the shooting.
The two allegedly got into a pushing match and Adderlini called deputies after she said Paris twisted her arm and tried to hurt her.
He apparently left before deputies arrived and later tracked his family down for that fatal meeting at the park.
