Winn-Dixie to close 94 stores as parent company files bankruptcy

Jacksonville, Fla. — The parent company of Winn-Dixie has filed for bankruptcy protection and announced plans to close 94 stores.

Jacksonville based Southeastern Grocers which operates BI-LO, Fresco y Más and Harvey's Supermarkets in seven states said Thursday it reached an agreement with “key economic stakeholders” which lets them restructure financially.

They’ve classified the stores that will be closing as “under performing” and identified these locations locally.

Harvey's, 2722 N. Pine Hills Road, Orlando

Winn-Dixie, 4686 E Michigan St., Orlando

Winn-Dixie, 1347 E Vine St., Kissimmee

Winn-Dixie, 2701 S. Woodland Blvd., DeLand

582 stores will continue to operate nationwide under the Southeastern Grocers umbrella.
