What Phase 3 reopening means for Florida’s theme parks

Orlando, Fla. — Governor Ron Desantis has issued an executive order on Friday, granting the state of Florida the ability to move forward into Phase 3 of reopening. However, although businesses like bars, salons, and restaurants have no more limitations, what does that mean for Central Florida’s theme parks?

The wording of Phase 3 says that “theme parks may return to normal operations with limited social distancing protocols.” However, what exactly determines limited social distancing is unclear.

In a response to the order, Disney has released a statement, saying that they are “evaluating it to determine what it may mean for our business. We are not making any immediate changes. As a reminder, face coverings are still required at Walt Disney World Resort.”

Seaworld has also not made an announcement regarding any changes for Phase 3.

No official announcement from Universal Orlando has been made regarding Phase 3, but the parks are still operating at 25 percent capacity.
