Volusia County, Fla. — Tuesday brought the coldest temperatures of the season to Central Florida and that had Manatees on the move for warmer waters.
Manatees can only be in water cooler than 68 degrees for a short time, so once the water temperatures start cooling down, they migrate to areas of warmer water, like Blue Springs State Park in Volusia County.
WFTV channel 9 Meteorologist George Waldenberger said the cold front that passed Monday opened the door for the coldest air yet this season, “the winds are gusty and it won’t even hit 60 degrees Tuesday”.
Western Marion and Sumter counties are under a freeze warning Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.
Most other areas, including Orlando, have the threat for frost developing tomorrow morning.
