Two Georgians arrested in Lake Co pot bust

Hundreds of thousands of dollars seized

FROM LAKE COUNTY SHERIFF:

On July 2, detectives with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit, with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration, conducted a controlled delivery of approximately 700 pounds of marijuana to two suspects, Clarence Brantley, 63, and Tracey Roddy, 45, after the two traveled from Georgia to purchase the load of marijuana.

Detectives met with the suspects in the Leesburg area, where they were taken into custody.

The suspects brought with them approximately $405,000 cash to make the purchase, which was seized by detectives along with the 2005 Dodge Ram truck the two traveled in.

Both were booked into the Lake County Detention Center and charged with Conspiracy to Traffic More Than 25 Pounds of Marijuana. Both were booked with a $500,000.00 bond.
