The incident occurred Saturday morning at the Motel 6 on 2992 W. International Speedway Blvd.

As the pair entered a room through its window, deputies say they woke up a guest who retaliated by shooting at the suspects, injuring the male.

According to a VSO press release, the male was “shot in his buttock.”

Deputies say the suspects ran away, heading toward the Tomoka Farms Road area in Daytona Beach.

The male is white, in his 30s, and about 6 foot tall, according to deputies; the female is also white, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, and carried a black backpack.

If you see them, deputies ask that you call 911.
