Is Starbucks misspelling your name on purpose?

It's almost become cliché at this point - posting a photo on social media of your Starbucks cup with your misspelled name scrawled across.

But, instead of poking fun at the mega-chain, like the posts seemingly are, are people instead being brainwashed into actually promoting them?

That's the latest conspiratorial theory to surface on the web.

As one video suggests, Starbucks employees have been taught to misspell customer's names on purpose so that they will, in turn, post that picture of the green siren logo to Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram and get a ton of free advertising.

Then, those posts go on to subconsciously influence consumer's friends to go out and get some Starbucks for themselves, continuing the circle of flowing money.

Check out the video below for an in-depth description of the theory and see what you think!
