Robin Williams was known worldwide for his eccentric comedy and diverse acting range, but only true Williams fans and hardcore gamers knew about his zeal for the popular MMORPG World of Warcraft.
Now the mega-game intends to honor the actor by creating a NPC, or non-player character, of Williams after a Change.org petition garnered nearly eleven thousand signatures.
The petition mentions that Williams, "took his characters very serious," and would "often joke about his WoW addiction but also about the reaction he'd get from other gamers when he admits he plays the game."
It goes on to ask Blizzard Entertainment to make the character, "perform some of Williams' best jokes... so he may continue making us smile long after his passing."
WoW gamers rejoiced Monday when Technical Game Designer, Chadd Nervigg, tweeted the response, "We're taking care of it."

With the confirmation that Williams will appear as an NPC in the game, Jacob Holgate, the petition organizer delightedly writes, "many cannot help but feel that they've preserved a tiny spark of who Mr. Williams was: a gamer, and a character."
