Public tip leads to murder suspect's arrest

The Orange County Sheriff's Office has charged a 20-year-old man with murder for a July 18th shooting at the troubled Tymberskan Condos.

James Alexis was shot on the premises and collapsed outside a front door where he sought help that night.

Richard Sullins has been charged with first-degree murder.

Police credit a public tip that led to the arrest.

The following is from the original police report:

OCSO deputies responded to several calls for a shooting at the complex.

A witness stated someone knocked on her front door. As she went to the door she heard gunfire. She discovered the victim deceased at her doorstep.

Deputies encounter a crowd of approximately 100 persons on arrival. Some were uncooperative as deputies attempted to help the victim and preserve the crime scene.

Officers from the Edgewood and Orlando Police responded to assist.  Homicide detectives and CSI personnel responded to speak to witnesses and gather evidence.

While investigating this incident, someone fired several round from gun close to the initial scene.  Deputies cleared the area and no suspect was captured on that event.
