ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — UPDATE 7:12 p.m.:
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who was shot and killed as 56-year-old Daryl Alexander Hill.
Deputies said Hill was trying to help someone who appeared to be in distress at Plymouth Sorrento and West Ponkan roads when he was shot and killed.
Raul Lionel Vazquez was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with Hill’s death.

A bystander was shot and killed Tuesday morning after attempting to intervene in a fight between a man and woman near Plymouth Sorrento and West Ponkan roads, according to authorities.
Deputies responded to the area around 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 11 after receiving reports of a man and woman physically fighting inside a vehicle. The vehicle later crashed, and the two continued fighting outside the vehicle, authorities said.
During the altercation, a bystander tried to intervene and was shot. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
All parties involved remained at the scene. Homicide detectives are actively investigating, and no additional information has been released.
