Orange County Deputy injured in three car crash

Orlando, Fla. — Firefighters say an Orange County Sheriff's Office deputy was injured in a three car crash in South Orlando Saturday evening.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened before 8p.m. at the corner of John Young Parkway and Americana Boulevard, blocking all lanes. Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.

Firefighters said they transported three patients to the Orlando Regional Medical Center. One patient, not the deputy, was a trauma alert.

Officials have not yet revealed the identity of the deputy.

Firefighters said the deputy was trapped in his squad car and had to be freed from it.
