Orange County, Fla. — Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings says that the county’s CARES for Residents program will re-open Tuesday at 8 a.m. with a capacity of 20,000 users.
The program provides a one time payment of $1,000 per adult, per household for residents negatively and financially impacted by the pandemic.
Anyone who has already been approved for CARES Act funding is not eligible to apply.
Mayor Demings added that “this may be the final time the portal will open.” The county has until December 30th to use any remaining CARES Act funds before it must be returned to the federal government.
Demings added that anyone who has been denied in the past or had a duplicate application and were denied are now eligible to re-apply on December 8th.
