Orange County Public Schools is inviting students, teachers, staff, families and community members to wear pink and spend at least 10 minutes reading on Friday as part of a special tribute called “Pink & Pages for Dolly.” The district announced the initiative in recognition of Dolly Parton’s contributions to literacy and her efforts to encourage children to develop a love of reading.

In a social media post, OCPS highlighted Parton’s Imagination Library program, which has provided more than 300 million books to children worldwide, including families in Orange County. The district is asking participants to honor her legacy by picking up a book, wearing pink and sharing photos from the event throughout the day.
