Orlando, Fla. — As Star Wars fans eagerly await the opening of Galaxy's Edge on August 29th, even more excitement is expected following the announcement of a new attraction which will open just 4 months after that.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will open on December 5th, which coincidentally, also happens to be Walt Disney's birthday.
So what's this ride all about? You will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base, and along the way, you will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. From there, you must escape and protect the base from the First Order and Kylo Ren.
Once Disney Imagineers complete the ride here, they will head to California to complete work on the Disneyland version of the same ride which will open on January 17, 2020.
