A New Smyrna Beach mother was arrested on Tuesday charged with child abuse and battery for her alleged involvement in a fight.
The fight, according to police, involved 34-year-old Candice Milam and two juveniles near New Smyrna Beach Middle School on Jan. 12. One of the juveniles was her daughter.
Video of the fight was recorded by several students and later posted to Facebook, which police say was used as evidence.
After the State Attorney’s office reviewed the case, an arrest warrant was issued for Milam’s arrest. She was arrested by Volusia County deputies and booked on a $1000 bond.
