Lanes reopen after overnight crash on I-4 in Orange County

An overnight crash shut down part of I-4 Friday morning.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An overnight crash involving a semitruck shut down part of Interstate 4 in Orange County Friday morning.

6:45 a.m. update:

Most of the eastbound lanes of I-4 have reopened in the area.

Troopers confirmed the crash involved a disabled U-Haul that was struck by a large pump truck.

The driver of the U-Haul and the pump truck were both taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.

The crash happened around 12:50 a.m. on eastbound I-4 near the Central Florida Parkway.

Florida Department of Transportation video cameras show several first responders at the scene with a semi rolled over and blocking several lanes of I-4.

The crash has all eastbound lanes of I-4 shut down in the area, with traffic being diverted at Daryl Carter Parkway.

It’s unclear how many vehicles were involved or if anyone was hurt in the crash.

Channel 9 has reached out to the Florida Highway Patrol to see how long the roadway will be closed.
