Kit Kat to release new sake flavor

Typically, you think sushi with your sake, not candy.

But Kit Kat wants to show you just how sweet that Japanese rice wine can be with their new sake flavored bars.

The brand, already known for its odd flavors, will be making their new sake-taste available in Japan beginning February 1st and are targeted as foreigner souvenirs.

The new Kit Kat is covered in white chocolate that has been mixed with sake powder, giving the candy the flavor of the popular alcoholic drink, finishing with a light, refreshing aftertaste.

The sake Kit Kat, adorned with pink cherry blossom-covered packaging, will cost only 150 yen (or $1.24) for a three-pack box.

The more enthusiastic buyer can also purchase a specialty nine-piece box for 700 yen.

Kit Kat has caused buzz in the past with the announcement of flavors such as purple sweet potato, red bean sandwich and the more popular green tea.
