Here’s how to book a COVID-19 vaccination at the Oviedo Mall if you’re 65 or older

The county also has a text message service sending out alerts about available appointments

Seminole County on Monday opened one of the state’s first public vaccination sites at the Oviedo Mall for seniors who are 65 or older.

Because of the demand, appointments are filling up quickly, with all appointments through Jan. 9 booked as of the publication of this article.

Though appointments can only be made by seniors 65 or older, they do not have to be residents of Seminole County. Emergency manager Alan Harris said the vaccination side is a “federal asset,” so seniors living anywhere can get the vaccination at the Oviedo Mall. Seminole is one of only eight counties to open a vaccine distribution site as part of a state pilot program.

Anyone who manages to get an appointment is told to drive to the north portion of the mall. From there, they will be told where to go next.
