Graduating UCF students will get to ‘walk’ in new on-campus experience

Grad Walk is available, by appointment only, starting on Nov. 14.

Orlando, Fla. — It looks different this year, but graduates at the University of Central Florida will get their chance to walk across the stage after all.

'Grad Walk’ allows gradating and recently-graduated students to register a timeslot at the Pegasus Ballroom to hear their name read aloud.

UCF spokesperson Chad Binette said students may bring up to four guests.

“They can wear regalia or something else, they’ll go to the Student Union, and get their moment walking across the stage,” Binette tells WDBO.

Students and their guests are also encouraged to take photos at various campus landmarks.

For fall 2020 graduates, Grad Walk is available, by appointment only, from Saturday, Nov. 14 through Thursday, Nov. 19. and on Friday, Dec. 18.

Spring and summer 2020 graduates will have the same opportunities from Saturday, Dec. 12, through Thursday, Dec. 17.

Official fall graduation ceremonies will be held virtually, as will all of Florida’s public universities this year due to a directive from the Florida Board of Governors.

Fall 2020 Virtual Commencement ceremonies will be held for each of UCF’s 13 colleges on Saturday, Dec. 19.

Each ceremony will include the reading of all graduates' names from that college and will be streamed on UCF’s main Facebook and YouTube pages.
