Forecasters give a 70 percent chance for a SpaceX launch tonight

Cape Canaveral, Fla. — SpaceX is ready to light up the Space Coast once again and while weather could be a factor, right now there is a 70 percent chance that the launch will happen.

The 61-minute launch window will open at 8:55 p.m. but the Falcon 9 is expected to lift off  from Cape Canaveral's Complex 40 launch pad at 9:25 p.m. carrying the next round of Starlink satellites into orbit.

This Starlink launch is part of a larger mission by SpaceX to provide high-speed internet access around the word.

SpaceX chose to wait until after the launch of the Crew Dragon spacecraft from nearby pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center.

You may remember the initial launch was delayed by Tropical Storm Arthur last month.

The Crew Dragon blasted off Saturday with NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken on board.

It marked the first crewed mission to launch into orbit from U.S. soil since the retirement of the space shuttle in 2011.
