Florida map narrows confirmed cases of COVID-19 down by ZIP code

Tallahassee, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health’s (FDH)  COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard now allows users to search by ZIP code.

This allows residents to see how many confirmed cases of coroanvirus are in their direct neighborhood.

Start by logging onto the interactive map (click here for the link)

On the upper right sidebar, highlight your county then scroll through the lower right sidebar to locate your zip code.

Then scroll to the bottom and click on the "cases by ZIP code" tab.

Keep in mind the data is designed to use a person’s home residence as a reference point, but the FDH states that in some situations the ZIP code may reflect the hospital where the person was admitted or tested.

The FDH says it is working to correct these data points.

Google came out with a similar map that narrows down the number of confirmed cases by city.

Users can scroll over their area then zoom in for more accurate information.

A  black hospital marker notes more than 100 cases in an area, red is between 50 and 99,  green is between 10 and 49 and blue is less than 10.
