Creed frontman, Stapp placed on psychiatric hold

The 41 year old Orlando native and lead singer of the Grammy-winning band has been placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold after he was discovered in a delusional state.

This follows Stapp's recent Facebook post in which the singer described himself as broke and homeless.  Citing a Madison County, Florida Sheriff's Department report, TMZ says deputies found Stapp on the side of a road on November 13th and that the singer was making incoherent rambling statements about someone trying to poison him.

Stapp's estranged wife Jaclyn says her husband hears voices and is in constant worry that his child is being targeted by the terrorist group ISIS.  Jaclyn, who filed for divorce last month, claims Scott's delusions are being fueled by drugs and that he has been selling off personal items to fuel his drug habit.

Stapp and fellow board member Mark Tremonti attended Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando and Florida State University.

Stapp won a Grammy Award for Creed's song "With Arms Wide Open" and numerous RIAA certifications.  In 2006, Hit Parader ranked Stapp as the 68th greatest heavy metal vocalist of all time.

In 2000, Stapp founded the With Arms Wide Open Foundation, a nonprofit organization "dedicated to helping underprivileged children and families around the world." The foundation has donated over $1 million to various causes
