Court Documents reveal gruesome murder scene in College Park

New court documents in the case against a man arrested for murder in College Park were released Friday and they paint a gruesome scene.

Xin Liu is facing first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm charges in the death of 56-year-old  James Clark.

Investigators said Clark's body was found inside Liu's apartment on Princeton Street by his landlord in June.  The discovery came after another tenant complained about a horrific smell that had been in his apartment  for a week.

The documents say Clark's body was stabbed more than 30 times, and that his head was hit with a blunt object.  They also say the body was so damaged that the medical examiner had to use fingerprints rather than facial recognition to identify the victim.

Documents also point out that a hammer and circular saw were found on the kitchen table inside the apartment while a box of bullets was found in an outside trash can.

Landlord, Jeremy Hrabal, has been charged as an accessory to murder after the fact.  Police say he waited several hours to report the discovery of the body and may have tampered with evidence.
