Cold Night Shelters set to open in Central Florida

Orlando, Fla. — As even colder temperatures move into Central Florida several shelters are set to open.

In Orange County, the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, which will be opening also put out a call for winter clothing to help the homeless. The organization is asking for jackets, sweatpants and blankets, which can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Center for Women and Families, 639 W. Central Blvd., in Orlando.

In Seminole County, all public libraries opened as relief centers Tuesday. At 5 p.m. Wednesday, the Rescue Outreach Mission, 1701 W 13th St, in Sanford will open. A hot meal will be served at 5:30 and emergency management officials tell News 96.5 WDBO transportation will be provided to bring people to an additional shelter should the Rescue Outreach get to capacity.
