Alabama Senator Sessions stumps for Trump in Florida

The only U.S. Senator to endorse Donald Trump during the Republican primary election season is campaigning for his longtime friend in the Florida panhandle today.

Sen. Jeff Sessions of nearby Mobile, Alabama recalled the first time he attended a Trump rally in his hometown.

About 25,000 people showed up at a football stadium and Sessions was called on stage and given a "Make America Great" cap which he put on for the first time.

Trump will be holding another large rally in Orlando on Wednesday afternoon at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

"An amazing event, I don't think I've ever seen anything like it," said Sessions.

Sen. Sessions said a lot of people "got to know him" during the The Apprentice television shows and formed their opinions of Trump before he became a candidate.

Since then, Sessions said Trump has been talking about issues that Republicans need to address.

"Because middle America, working America and lower income America are not doing well. They are struggling far more than the establishment likes to admit," Sessions explained in a telephone interview with News 96.5 WDBO.

He points to bad trade deals and immigrant workers looking for fewer available jobs. Sessions said economists agree that wages will fall under this scenario. "It's just plain fact."

"So, somebody needs to stand up for average guy, for a change," said Sessions.
