JM Smucker has extended its recall of Jif peanut butter to include individually-wrapped cakes, trail mix and ready-to-eat salad products.
The announcement comes exactly three weeks after the company announced its first recall amid reports that 16 people from 12 states became infected with salmonella from eating a Jif product. Since then, more than 18 other companies have recalled products that contain Jif peanut butter.
A spokesman for JM Smucker says the recall is going to cost the company an estimated $125 million.
