Florida school cop threatens to shoot student leaving campus for dentist

A video that shows a Florida school resource officer threatening to shoot a student who was leaving for an orthodontist appointment has gone viral.

The clip was uploaded to Facebook by Nedra Miller, the mother of the 17-year-old son William, after he was expelled over the incident. In it, William -- who was attempting to drive off campus -- can be heard telling the officer and another River Ridge High School official that he'd received permission to leave for his appointment. The officer, who's standing between the student and the exit, tells him, "You’re going to get shot if you come another f***ing foot closer to me. You run into me, you’ll get f***ing shot."

The video has been viewed 38,000 times and shared 716 times.

Although William went back to class and missed his appointment, school officials suspended him from December 17th through January 9th, his mom says. They later decided to expel him instead. Nedra Miller, who confirms she'd gotten her son excused, has filed a complaint with the school board in an attempt to have his expulsion overturned.
