Simulated bomb found at Titusville school

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — A suspicious package designed to “simulate an explosive device” was found today near Titusville High School. Out of caution, the school was evacuated this morning.

Titusville police later tweeted that "All students and faculty are safe."

The FBI will assist police in the investigation of the hoax device.

Making a hoax bomb is a second degree felony in Florida.

“We will be aggressively working this investigation to identify who is responsible for this incident because it was a tremendous drain on public safety resources", said Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson.
