Tropical Depression 5 forms over the Western Atlantic

The National Hurricane center reports that Tropical Depression 5 was spotted just over the western part of the Atlantic Saturday morning, just about 245 miles from Bermuda. As of the 11 a.m. advisory, the depression is moving toward the east northeast at 17 miles per hour and is expected to get faster by Sunday.

They say the maximum sustained winds are near 35 miles per hour with higher gusts. It could also become a tropical storm in the days ahead, but so far, projections show that although it is east of Florida, it does not appear to be any threat to Florida.
