Dr. Anthony Fauci and Senator Rand Paul went head-to-head on Tuesday at a Senate health committee.
The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said that comments from Paul and other conservatives have endangered his life.
What happens when he [Paul] gets out and accuses me of things that are completely untrue?” Fauci asked. “All of a sudden that kindles the crazies out there, and I have life — threats upon my life, harassment of my family and my children with obscene phone calls because people are lying about me.”
A man who claimed he was driving to Washington D.C. to kill Fauci was arrested last month.
