According to police and surveillance video of the shooting, two masked and hooded suspects shot three known members of the Trinitarios street gang just before 11 p.m. Saturday, as well as seven innocent bystanders, some of whom had been attending a birthday party at a Corona restaurant, WPIX reported.

After the shooting, the two suspects fled the scene on two scooters driven by two other masked and hooded suspects. All four suspects are believed to be men, the TV station reported.

According to police, eight men and two women, who ranged in age from 19 to 72, were transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening, WLNY reported.

NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig called the shooting “a brazen, coordinated attack” during a Sunday news conference, the TV station reported.

Essig also confirmed that while Saturday’s shooting has not been linked directly to any other recent crimes, the mass shooting appears to mirror other recent gang-related incidents, including the use of multiple guns, scooters and the wounding of innocent bystanders, WPIX reported.

No arrests had been made by Sunday evening.
