NASA says they are aiming at 8:35 p.m. Saturday night to undock the Dragon capsule from the International Space Station. Once inside, astronauts Mike Hopkins, Victor Glover, Shannon Walker, and Soichi Noguchi will splash down at 2:57 a.m. on Sunday in the Gulf of Mexico.
If successful, this will be the first time since the Apollo 8 splashdown back in 1968 that a capsule containing astronauts splashed down back to Earth before dawn. Meanwhile, the remaining seven astronauts on the space station, which include the ones that arrived last weekend, will spend the next 6 months up there, conducting science experiments.
