NASA’s Crew-2 Astronauts arrive at the Kennedy Space Center

Cape Canaveral, Fla. — Both the Crew Dragon Endeavor and the astronauts that will be onboard have arrived safely at the Kennedy Space Center Friday afternoon.

This is all ahead of the Crew 2 mission, which is scheduled for takeoff from Pad 39A at 6:11 am. on April 22( Earth Day). The mission will carry astronauts Shane Kimbrough, pilot Megan McArthur, Akihiko Hoshide and Thomas Pesquet to the International Space Station for a six month stay.

Over the weekend, the crew will complete a dress rehearsal, during where they go through the entire procedure for the mission as if it were on the actual day, which includes suiting up, heading to the spacecraft, and then after the timed event ends, they will get to spend some quality time with their friends and family.

We’ve also learned there will be time for physical exercise, as well as the administering of multiple covid tests. One fun fact about the pilot, Megan McArthur is that not only is she the wife of Demo-2 flight astronaut Bob Behnken, but she will also be sitting in the same seat that he did during his mission.

The Dragon is scheduled to dock with the I-S-S on April 23. Be sure to tune into WDBO on the Earth Day Launch for live team coverage.
