Keep your eyes peeled for a lunar eclipse this 4th of July weekend

While you enjoy your time out for the 4th of July, you might also get to enjoy a nice surprise in the sky.

On Saturday night, there will be a penumbral lunar eclipse, which happens when the moon moves through the outer( penumbral) part of the Earth's shadow. As long as the sky is clear of clouds and firework smoke, you should be able to start seeing it around 11:07 p.m. EDT, with the "maximum" of it happening at 12:29 a.m. EDT Sunday.

The moon will also be not just visible to us here in the Americas, but also to eastern Africa as it goes slightly dark. Also, since this happens to be the first full moon of the month, its called a Buck Moon since its the time when Buck deer grow new antlers.
