One Blood calls for donations after suspending operations in the panhandle

OneBlood has issued a call for help in after Hurricane Sally dumped four months' worth of rain in parts of the Florida panhandle in just four hours.

Approximately 30 inches of rain fell Wednesday as the category 2 hurricane slowly made landfall.

The weather forced the nonprofit organization to shut down operations in the flooded areas and the call has gone out to the rest of Florida to roll up their sleeves and donate - now!

The coronavirus pandemic has already put increased demand on the blood supply and with businesses shut down the inventory was already drastically low.

OneBlood is calling for donations of all blood types: Especially type-O, which can help others with any type.
