An Oregon teacher has come under fire after he burned "I love mom" into his student's arms.
Samuel Dufner was using a Tesla coil, which transmits electricity without wires at high voltage and frequency levels, in an exercise when he commented that the coil could be used to mark skin.
He then asked for student volunteers.
Those who volunteered had "I love mom," with the word love symbolized as a heart, onto their arms.
Though the marks eventually faded, the 37-year-old was still arrested at South Salem High School.
Dufner has been placed on leave from the school and prosecutors have decided not to file any criminal charges "at this time," though an investigation continues.
