Central Florida civil rights group suing FBI

Today, the Council of American-Islamic Relations Florida filed a notice of claim stating its intention to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the FBI for killing Ibragim Todashev in May 2013.
During an interrogation in his Orlando home, Todashev was fatally shot seven times by FBI agent Aaron McFarlane.
CAIR Florida Spokesman Ali Kurnaz says they intend for this case to be "the first step in highlighting and addressing flawed FBI policies."
The group also believes the FBI mishandled the interrogation; stating Todeshev should have been taken to court instead of questioned at his home. CAIR Florida feels the FBI carelessly hired Aaron McFarlane. McFarlane was allegedly involved in two police brutality lawsuits and four internal affairs investigations involving brutality in California.
"We must hold our civil servants to the highest standards," says Kurnaz.
Todashev's family is seeking 30-million dollars in the suit.
"The organization hopes the suit will bring justice to the Todashev family."
