Woman shoots, kills son after argument, police in Oklahoma say

TULSA, Okla. — A woman shot and killed her son late Tuesday morning at a home in north Tulsa following an argument, according to authorities.

Officers were called just before noon to the scene of the shooting, which happened inside an opened garage at a home near the intersection of Peoria Avenue and East 51st Street North, police said.

A woman told officers she and her adult son were having an argument when the son began threatening her, according to authorities. Officials said the woman shot her son at least once in the upper body area after the argument. He died at the home, police said.

Authorities did not immediately identify the woman, who was considered a person of interest in the case Tuesday, or her son, who was identified as a man who appeared to be in his early 30s.

Officers were interviewing the woman Tuesday. Police said she was being cooperative.

Authorities continue to investigate.
