WDBO’s team will be impacted by the 2021 Kentucky Derby

The biggest horse race of the year will not only impact those who are attending the event, but also somebody on the WDBO news team.

So what is this race about? The 2021 Kentucky Derby will be taking place at 6:57 p.m. at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. 20 horses will be competing head to head in a 2 minute sprint for a $1.86 million prize. Essential Quality is currently favored to win with 4/5 odds, while Like The King has the worst odds at 72/1.

So how does this impact the WDBO News Team? Each member of the team was randomly assigned a horse, and whoever’s horse comes in last place will have to show up to work dressed as if they were going to the Kentucky Derby.

Here’s who got what horse, and each horses odds to win the race:

Chris “CC” Crawford- Keepmeinmind----63/1

Ed Torrence- Brooklyn Strong----65/1

Laurel Lee- Helium----57/1

Scott Anez- Known Agenda----19/1

Ray Caputo- Super Stock----50/1

Marsha Taylor- Rock Your World----5/1

Gene Wexler- Midnight Bourbon----19/1

Darrell Moody- Highly Motivated----19/1

Keith Memoly- Hidden Stash----46/1

Nick Gryniewicz- Like the King----72/1

Julianne Amaya- Hot Rod Charlie----9/1

Kevin Rafuse- Essential Quality----4/5

Mo Rytel/Daniel Vargas- King Fury----25/1

Katrina Scales- Sainthood----49/1

Ronald Morales- Medina Spirit----18/1

Joe Rehmet- O Besos----55/1

Tony Marino- Dynamic One----51/1

Chase Bunker- Mandaloun----47/1

Brandon Hogan- Soup & Sandwich----37/1

Joe Kelley- Bourbonic----39/1

Based on those odds, Nick Gryniewicz would be the favorite to lose, but since it was CC’s idea, we all hope his horse comes in last.
