WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A Pennsylvania man is behind bars after police said he raped a 6-year-old girl, who then contracted a sexually transmitted disease.
According to PennLive.com and NorthCentralPa.com, authorities charged Daniel Prieto, 38, of Williamsport, with child rape, statutory sexual assault and other child sex crimes last week after investigators said he "engaged in at least three separate sexual acts" with the girl. Prieto, who was arrested Thursday, told police that he'd had sexual intercourse and oral sex with the victim, the news outlets reported.
In an interview with investigators, the girl's mother, who had been in a sexual relationship with Prieto, said she and her daughter both tested positive for gonorrhea, PennLive.com reported. The woman said Prieto had been her only sexual partner for years, according to police.
Prieto, who is being held in the Lycoming County Prison, was denied bail at a preliminary arraignment, the news outlets reported.
