Orlando, Fla. — A capsule that’ll someday launch paying customers into space has successfully completed its 15th sub-orbital test flight in West Texas.
Blue Origin, the spaceflight company founded by Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos, launched its reusable New Shepard booster and capsule 346,000 feet into the sky Wednesday at approximately 12:49 p.m. near Van Horn, Texas.
A test dummy named Mannequin Skywalker was strapped inside the capsule as part of a “verification step for the vehicle and operations prior to flying astronauts.”
Almost 7 and a half minutes after liftoff, New Shepard made a gentle stop on a landing pad.
A huge congrats to the entire Blue Origin team on another successful #NewShepard launch. #GradatimFerociter
