‘If it was your child, you would want someone to come forward:’  Family of Kevin Pope seeks answers

Taft, Fla. — The family of Kevin Pope is asking for the public’s help finding the semi-truck driver who fatally struck and killed the 10-year-old Wetherbee Elementary School student.

Pope was hit around 2:30 p.m. at Landstar Boulevard and Wetherbee Road last Wednesday. Although the truck drove away, Florida Highway Patrol troopers are not calling this a hit-and-run crash.

“It’s not just affecting me it’s affecting a lot of people,” said Adrienne Edmonson, Kevin’s mother.

FHP is also looking for more witnesses and any available surveillance video.

GoFundMe page has been started to raise funds for Kevin's funeral on Saturday.
