VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Volusia County School District announced that face masks are now optional for all adults, including employees, parents, volunteers, vendors, and other visitors in VCS schools and facilities, effective immediately.
School officials said they made the decision due to the overall downward trend of COVID-19 cases in the community.

Employees who would like to continue wearing appropriate face-coverings can do so, officials said.
“We will continue to closely monitor the course of the virus and will notify you of any updates,” Superintendent Scott Fritz said.
