Orlando, Fla. — New Smyrna Beach isn't called the ‘shark bite capitol of the world’ for nothing.
An Oviedo second-grader narrowly avoided an encounter while surfing this weekend.
His father, Shaun Moore, tells the Orlando Sentinel his son, Chandler, filmed himself surfing using a GoPro fixed to his board.
It wasn’t until they looked at the footage that night that they saw the small blacktip shark leaping across the camera near Chandler’s feet.
Moore posted the footage on Twitter.
