SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — New home builders are facing many challenges as some materials are in short supply right now.
One city in Seminole County said they are seeing a backlog in water meters needed for all the new development.

In the first half of the year, the city has installed 500 water meters for new homes.
“I think there have been a lot of reports on building supplies in general,” said Bill Marcous, Sanford utility services manager. “Anything related to new construction and that goes down to water meters themselves”

Marcous said the meters are in short supply right now. They have installed 500 of those digital water meters and 500 reclaimed water meters this year for new construction.
There are plans to install 1,500 additional meters.
